Anna Coulson is an independent Headteacher, national educational leader and passionate advocate for children’s mental health, confidence and wellbeing.
In a teaching career spanning almost two decades, Anna progressed rapidly from the classroom into senior leadership, holding roles including EYFS and Key Stage One Leader, Deputy Headteacher, Head of School, Executive Headteacher and Director of a large Teaching School Alliance. Her expertise spans school improvement, strategic operational change, curriculum design and innovation, and all aspects of teaching and learning.
Beginning her professional life in the business world, Anna brings a unique blend of educational excellence and commercial insight to her work. She has long championed the power of education and enterprise working together to create exceptional outcomes for children.
In 2016, she created the acclaimed programme Developing Future Winners, designed to give children a deeper understanding of the world they will enter and the belief that they can achieve anything they set their hearts on. The same year, she completed her NPQH and was designated a National Leader in Education (NLE). She later completed the programme Building Capacity in a Multi-Academy Trust: The Critical Role of an Executive Leader, and in January 2018 was appointed Chief Executive Officer of a large multi-academy trust, leading ten diverse schools across the region.
Anna then founded and led Champion Tutor, a highly academic tuition company built on a powerful belief: that exceptional outcomes are achieved when academic rigour is underpinned by emotional intelligence. Champion Tutor combined elite teaching, personalised learning plans and deep pastoral care, enabling children not only to accelerate academically but to develop confidence, resilience and a genuine love of learning. This experience further shaped Anna’s holistic philosophy that children flourish most when their minds and hearts are nurtured together.
Three years ago, Anna began the next chapter of her journey at The Froebelian School, where she now leads with heart, courage and unwavering belief in every child. Her Froebelian career has been defined by a deeply personal, values-driven approach that places love, honesty, respect and fairness at the centre of school life.
Alongside her work as Headteacher, Anna is studying to become a Level 7 Executive Coach, wellbeing champion and creator of The Power Start which is a daily movement, mindset and nourishment programme that helps children flourish physically, emotionally and academically.
It is this lifetime of leadership, compassion and lived experience that inspired Anna to create Roxie the Little Fawn- a story that gently reminds children everywhere that the greatest superpower they possess is believing in themselves
